Washington-Hancock County is hosting a seminar called, “Protecting Our Farms from Ourselves, Others, and the Government”

Featuring Paul Dillon, a Maine attorney for 38 years and an expert in farm businesses and estates. He has been a frequent presenter at agricultural events speaking on topics ranging from Farm Succession to Protecting the Family Farm. Program is free for current WHCFB members (non-members $25/person) as part of WHCFB’s ongoing educational focus. Light refreshments will be served. The event will be held at the Riverview Room, Ellsworth Public Library at 20 State Street, Ellsworth. *Serious weather date is 2/28/17. Knox-Lincoln County Legislative Dinner

Please mark your calendars for the Knox-Lincoln County Farm Bureau’s Annual Legislative Dinner set for Saturday, February 25, 2017. It will be held at the Evening Star Grange, 31 Old Union Road in Washington (across from the Gibbs Library and fire station). We will be gathering at 6:30 p.m. for social time and a beef dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. More detailed information will follow in a couple of weeks. Legislative/Forestry Committee meeting #2

Date: February 28, 2017

Time: 1 pm

Venue: Maine Farm Bureau, 4 Gabriel Dr. Augusta, Maine

The Legislative/Forestry Committee meet during the legislative session to review all bills related to agriculture and property rights. The committee then discusses the bills in relation to Maine Farm Bureau's current policy's and votes on Maine Farm Bureau's lobbying efforts and positions for those bills. This committee is the driving force behind Farm Bureau's lobbying. All members are welcomed and encouraged to attend the meeting. York County Annual Pie Social

Who doesn't like a little pie? Stop by the Annual Pie Social to meet with other farmers in your area and talk with local legislators, all while eating delicious pie!
