The American Farm Bureau recently released a statement regarding the USDA’s announced adjustment to the 2019 hay and grazing date for prevented planting acres.

Cliff Kramer, a member of the MFB Board of Directors who farms hay said, “Trying to make dry hay has not happened for us yet this year. A lot of dairy farms are also having trouble just getting their corn in the ground because it is so wet. So after last night’s rain, I don’t see a tractor going to mow grass any time soon. In short, summer is three weeks behind where we should be.”
