The 64th Annual Meeting of the Maine Farm Bureau Association will be held on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 7 and 8, 2015 at the Sheepscot Harbour Village & Resort, 7 Island Lane, Edgecomb, ME 04556. The meeting will be hosted by Knox-Lincoln County Farm Bureau.
Farmers from around the state will convene to discuss policies affecting Maine agriculture, including upcoming legislative bills.
Maine Farm Bureau policies are originated by members at the county level and brought for discussion and vote at the annual meeting. Topics for this year’s meeting will include a discussion of legislation affecting broadband internet connectivity in rural Maine, maintaining property rights for Maine’s farmers, and tax implications on those involved in the agricultural industry. Also in attendance will be Agriculture, Forestry and Conservation Commissioner Walt Whitcomb. He will provide an update on the state’s efforts to support Maine agriculture.
The Maine Farm Bureau will be selling bumper stickers featuring the image shown above in an effort to raise funds. Stickers can be purchased for $2, with half of the proceeds going to Maine Farm Bureau activities and the other half going to help support the Disaster Relief Fund.
